CLOWN NEWS: Lincoln, Scunthorpe and Sheffield clowns in the news

21 Nov

So, more clown stuff, rather than give you a description of todays found news, I thought that I’d let the links speak for themselves, and the pics/vids so to speak. New locations and related clown info drifting around the web.

The Lincoln Clown: http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/Scary-clown-spotted-Lincoln-Facebook-page/story-20104672-detail/story.html Some whispers on the net claim that this clown was nothing but a local band seeking the news to go viral, again for publicity (if that had been successful, we would know the bands name wouldn’t we!)

The Scunthorpe Clown: http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/sinister-looking-clown-roaming-streets-Scunthorpe/story-20099038-detail/story.html and here: http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/Good-clown-Scunthorpe-8217-s-sinister-clown/story-20104994-detail/story.html and here: http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/xx/story-20100213-detail/story.html

And Sheffieldhttp://forgetoday.com/news/mysterious-locals-spotted-clowning-around-sheffield/ and talk here; http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?p=10167865 and Sheffield sightings facebook page https://www.facebook.com/OfficialSheffieldCS

Also pics of the Chesterfield, Sheffield and Retford Clowns.

May or not be the “Rainworth clown” however, while the mask looks similar, the costume doesn’t match.

Taken from the facebook page, dedicated to this creepy clown haunting Sheffield.

I thought I’d add this video of the rainworth clown from youtube, just for comparison to the pic of the Chesterfield clown, as you see, the costume differs, so I would still say these are still two different, if not unrelated clowns (jesus, I can’t believe I’m seriously writing this!)

This is a new one, the Retford clown, looks kinda like a zombie Ronald MacD.

Plus a shot of the purported Retford clown, a zombified version of Mr macD, I’d heard a few rumours of Retford’s clown, but I suppose this is confirmation it’s true.

As we speak, literally while I’m typing there’s been a sighting in my area, a kid has just seen a clown, and it’s scared her senseless and is getting treated for shock right now. I must tell you that even so I’m not too fazed by one of these costumed freaks, just hearing lots of uproar and uncertainty in case someones lurking around my area, it’s still really unsettling. My kids are pretty freaked right now (Plus they’re only little ones, so they are borderline from really throwing a big panic if anyone upsets them now they have heard there’s a scary clown about) I’ll get more info about this as soon as possible.

For those out there who normally come here for other content that’s non-clown related, please do not fear, I’ll be back to normal service soon, providing these bloody clowns don’t spread further…

Right where’s my bat…

CLOWN NEWS: Copycat Clowns on the increase, Chesterfield, Mansfield, and Doncaster bag their own clowns!

18 Nov

You might have thought that since the Northampton clown had been unmasked (Student filmmaker Alex Powell was revealed as the infamous clown and has since admitted it was him behind the stunt) that clown mania would have peatered out, but no, it has not the case. Following on from the Carrick fergus clown, it looks as if other pretenders have stepped for ward in Chesterfield and Mansfield.

To make matters worse, it finally has come full circle to me here in Doncaster, as I was informed that a creepy fellow is being hunted by the police just around the corner from me in Highfields, and someone dressed as a clown has been spotted tapping on windows trying to lure children from their houses! I daren’t tell my kids that there actually is an evil pennywise type just streets away, attempting to abduct kids, they would be petrified! Details are sketchy at this time, but as soon as I find more info, I’ll put an update up here. There’s even talk of there being not just one, but a couple of them, and that they are armed with knives! Although much of this could well be heresay, more info will no doubt come to light.

Now I fully expect that lots of other towns are going to aquire their very own demonic clown to terrorise the neighbourhoods where you live. I think that just the fact that us in the UK have this eccentric vibe for the strange and unhinged, this is going to spread. Where next and just how far will some of these nutters go. I for one will be keeping my happy stick (see wulf sternhammer from 2000AD) nearby just in case the Highfields clown tries to look through my windows!

If anyone in these areas knows any additional news about these wierdos, feel free to get in touch and let me know.

More clown news as and when.

Northampton clown News: Carrickfergus copycat ‘killer clown’ turns himself into Police!

30 Sep

In an even more weird twist of events, it would seem our friend the Northampton Clown (Thanks for the favourited tweet, by the way!) has got himself a copycat, but this “killer clown” and his assistant gimp has come undone by the long arm of the law!

That’s right Carrickfergus in Northern ireland has it’s own creepy clown, no doubt in homage to the web sensation. Only thing is this one was seen hanging around some schools! Not surprisingly, the police weren’t happy with their antics, and the clown was forced to hand himself into the cops for scaring the kids!

It doesn’t seem to have deterred him much though, as you can see with this pic taken later outside the copshop!

Are we living in a golden age of costumed characters that emerge to be spotted? How long before someone takes it a little too far? Will there be more, a clown for every town?

More news later!!

Northampton Clown News: Clown on video

23 Sep

So OK, the clown craze seems to be an unstoppable force of nature, causing worldwide attention and interest. Even Alan Moore has been quoted as refuting claims that he is the clown, Will this never end? Well, I did say that I’d keep you up to date with news, so this is the only proper footage we have of the infamous Northampton clown.

I saw this yesterday, but didn’t think too much of it as it is pretty poor, come on clown, do something better than this lame video. At least try a bit harder, the world is watching. Still it’s pretty weird that the clown has garnered such a response.

I’m seriously thinking of adding a lookie likey 15mm clown figure to my range, just as a tribute. If the response to the clown figure is as enthusiastic  as news of the clown’s sightings, then it could net me a fortune!!

More news as we get it…..

Northampton clown hunted by costumed Clown hunter!

20 Sep

In a strange twist of events, the creepy Northampton clown has aquired an arch nemesis! The latest is that the clown hunter was out and about looking for the freaky funhouse fiend the other day, but his patrol came to naught! This comes from metro and facebook, where apparently the so called crimefighter has set up his very own facebook page (sigh)

Truth is, The giveaway is in this guy’s shoes and bald head. One in the same (according to my Batcomputer!)

If you take a look at this pic from a youtube mocumentary, the clown sports identical costume (The film is also was filmed in the area, more here and the movie:  http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/09/16/northampton-clown-video_n_3933320.html ) This clown is also a bald guy, but check out he shoes in this pic:

Identical shoes! It’s the same bloke for sure. To quote from the huffington post article:

Gacy as "Pogo The Clown".

Gacy as “Pogo The Clown”. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

The film by Alex Powell is called The Local Clown, with its subject shown preparing his costume, with a painted red nose, a billowing yellow-patterned blouse and blue pantaloons.

The actor playing the clown is credited as William Johnston but is listed on the Star Now talent directory as Northampton actor, model and musician William Unwin, according to the newspaper.

He is seen sitting on a tatty sofa, next to two stuffed clown dolls, discussing his love for balloon animals. During the ten-minute film, the clown explores his crush on one of the “living statues” he passes by on the street.

In the video, the clown is credited as being William Johnston, so no doubt Unwin is the his name.

Personally I’d like to think that there were a chance of widescale copycat clowns and costumed heroes worldwide, but it looks as if your sprung Mr Johnston….or could I be wrong?

Like my mother in law said, he’s a proper John Wayne Gacy!

I don’t think this weird story is quite over just yet, I’ll keep you posted!
