10mm Zombies: Pendraken zombie survivors preview!

18 May

For those of you who are anticipating the release of Pendraken’s 10mm modern zombie miniatures, take a look at the greens over on the Pendraken forum!

Sculpted by the very talented industry veteran, Phil Lewis, these little survivors are going to be a great addition to the forthcoming range in this scale. I myself will be looking forward for the chance to do some Z gaming using them, and lets hope that the buying public will see good sense and buy shed loads of them, so the guy’s at Pendraken see fit to keep supporting the range with other Z specific and modern stuff to fill out our 10mm post apocolyptic cityscapes.

Go on over to the Pendraken forum and join in the conversation!!

ZAS 15mm Kickstarter funding gains Critical Mass!

16 Feb

You may know that my preferred miniature scale is 15mm, so I had to highlight this new KS from Critical Mass Games for their cool looking 15mm ZAS mercs. They really are doing well with this at the moment and are already funded and on to their stretch goals!

They are offering plenty of great combos and some very cool looking vehicles for you 15mm scifi gaming, of which I love the Vtol strike hawks, a very tempting bit of kit indeed!

What is encouraging, is that with the boom in 15mm sci-fi at the moment, lots of 15mm manufacturers are seeing that they can indeed get gamers fired up about 15mm gaming as a worthy alternative to the mighty 28’s/32’s. With the Loud Ninja and Armies Army KS all doing very well, the doubters were wrong and there indeed is a hardcore following that will fund projects like these in 15mm. I would like to think that even so my original Indieogo campaign failed, it was an indicator for what was to come for 15mm sci-fi (Ok, maybe in my dreams!) Too long have the 28mm’s dominated the hobby and its about time the 15 got a bit of the recognition the scale deserves. Maybe the worldwide recession has a little to do with the rise, as the less disposable income an average wargamer has available, has been scaled down somewhat. Other than that all I can say is I concurr 15mm is THE SCALE, but I would say that as I am biased!!

I suggest you get involved with this if you like the looks of what they have on offer, they are at full funding so if you back it, you’ll be guaranteed to benefit!

Check it out for some lovely 15mm goodness, you know you want to!!

Pendraken Preview new 10mm Modern Zombies!

18 Jan

Well, it’s been the moment I’ve been waiting for, the guys at Pendraken Miniatures have revealed that they plan on releasing their walking dead inspired range of modern zombies in 10mm scale! I myself have been thinking about the huge meta horde games I’m going to play with these wonderful little zomers!

Sculpted by Phil Lewis (Legend of 80’s GW fame) These little beauties are being prepared for a release date of between Feb/March. There’s a load of variants of zombie goodness, including a zombie dog! I hope this line is one the guys are going to keep adding to, with a good selection of survivor types, modern vehicles and maybe more!

Here are some pics of the greens to give you some idea of what to expect. First the male zombies….

And, the Females and crawlers….

As you can see there’s even a little girl zombie with a teddy! Just like in the very first episode of TWD! I urge you fellow zombie gamers and fans, to get some of these little undead nuggets of zombie delight and make this line a real winner. Why not try a great new scale to enact the zombie apocolypse, I know I am for sure. Of my two planned campaigns this year, these figures will form part of my mass battle meta games in the timeline, while we zoom in slightly to allow 15mm squad level skirmish/salvage/rescue type chapters, then we zoom in again at 28mm for more close up survival type games, almost like dungeoneering, tunnel fighting and interior games. I’ll keep you posted of my progress, plus whatever resources I use/make/find for the whole campaign in any scales used.

If you haven’t checked out Pendraken Miniatures before, go and have a browse at their website and take a look at their excellent ranges of all things 10mm, from historical to fantasy and sci-fi. Pendraken Miniatures

If your interesed in getting involved in 10mm gaming, you could check out Pendrakens very own forum, its quite busy and is a good place to hang if you love miniatures and are curious about the scale. Pendraken Forum Who knows, I might see you there!!

Now I just got to find a miniature in 10mm that looks like Rick and I’m away…..

Peace out….
