We are back,The Grinning Skull is back online!!

backbaby

Well folks, after a lot of messing around, creating a archive/new site, much hair pulling out and other guff. We are back.

I could sit here and type to you, what the hell has gone on, but suffice to say I’m not going to bore you with an entire catalogue of problems, I’m just happy that this is sorted.

The only thing is, it’s now left me with an other site, with an almost identical set up as here. Never the less, for now, I’m going to update both and after some jiggery pokery, I’ll post on both, amend links and try to integrate them with each other. That way, if anything goes tits up again, everything will be up to date.

Of course, all this has caused some damage to my online space, with the various algorithms and doo-dah’s on the internet, I hope to overcome this blip eventually (plus, having two sites listed with links to each other, and material etc can’t be a bad thing? Right?) So for now, while I sort out stuff on here, and www.grinningskullstudios.design.blog (which for those of you who don’t know, is where the archived site exists also)

All posts from there, will be exported/reblogged on here, just for my completist nature. You’ll be able to read them as soon as I get sorted out, but if you want to read it now, jump over to www.grinningskullstudios.design.blog and read them now.

I’m just glad that the original is back.

Catch you later, and let me know if any of you subscribers are getting notified, or any other things have stirred (blog network links, rss and other crap) into resurrection!

The Telly Rant: Too Much or Not enough?

4 Sep

Watching & catching up with your fave shows these days is a lot easier in this day and age, what with the event of the smart TV and internet, but I’m also finding it a pain too.
I don’t know if you agree with me or not, but with just the sheer amount of good telly available now, it’s also a real pain finding the time to watch what I want too!

I’ve just got around to catching up with the latest series of HBO’s Game of Thrones – Season 7 [DVD] [2017], which was pretty damn good I think you’d agree (Littlefinger getting slashed in the throat, classic!!) and I got around to seeing The Defenders on Netflix (Loved that too!)
My trouble with it all is that it seems like a trek just trying to get up to date on everything. I’m behind with The Flash, I’m behind with DC Legends of Tomorrow S2 [DVD] [2017], Bob’s Burgers: The Complete 4th Season, Agents of Shield, Supergirl and a whole host of other TV shows and as time goes on, it’s going to get very overwhelming indeed.

At least I’ll be ready for the new series of Star Wars Rebels Season 3 [Blu-ray] [Region Free] and The Walking Dead Season 7 [DVD] [2017], but I wouldn’t like to think what it’d be like if I had to start from scratch from the beginning!

Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Genre TV shows, it’s much better than it used to be back in the day, I just think that maybe it’s too much. (Will we all have square eyes?)

The way we are consuming media like this these days is changing to be sure, and I’m not going to diss it all, as the standard is right up there, more so than movies in some respects, but at the rate we are going, how long before it all goes tits up? you know, when will there be a fly in the ointment? (so to speak)

Somehow, there are so many great programs on the box, I’m going to have to ditch some of it just so I have time to do other stuff, that is more pressing matters (Hey, I’ve got an empire to build here!) Fear the Walking Dead – Season 2 [DVD] will have to wait!

I was just wondering how others feel about this, do any of you share these views, or do you disagree?

Well, according to my stats on wordpress, The Grinning Skull has clocked up an amazing 200,000+ hits! (currently standing at a very respectable 200,097!)

Not bad considering it’s been running for just over a year, I’d just like to thank everybody who’s been reading my stuff since we began, and everyone who’s contributed and inspired, without you all there would be no blog at all!

Thanks everyone, and here’s to another fifth of a million!

I just wanted to tell you, that this mighty blog can now be found at www.thegrinningskull.co.uk, our new domain on the interwebs!

Yes, I suppose its been a long time coming, but I got there eventually, to be honest its taken a while to get the re directioning right, despite many useless emails to the domain seller! I can assure you that this is now a valid link and hopefully, we should start seeing a little difference in the search ratings (again hopefully!!)

Please let everyone know, spread the word. It’s a bit easier to remember without the extended subdomain (http://www.thegrinningskull.wordpress.com) but rest assured, you can still find it there too (if you prefer!)

Sheesh, the things I do to make life easier for you lot…..!!

Peace out….

CALLING ALL CREATIVE TYPES….

Would you like to guest write for the Grinning Skull? Do you have some cool diorama or terrain to show? Showcase your miniatures? or have a step by step tutorial about making terrain that you’d love to share, its up to you!

It is my hope here to continue to offer as much good quality original stuff for the site, plus more. I’d just like to throw it open to you all to see what you’d add to the party! Maybe you could do a miniature or game review, a painting guide, horror film news or review, in fact what ever you think would fit great here.

Please contact me if you would like to have a go, obviously I would allow you to link to your own site and promote yourself (As long as its not for spam/mass marketing etc) with whatever method you would like. Get in touch and we can have a chat about your proposed idea!!

I look forward to hearing from you!
