Compendium Update!

Ok, first off, if you were hoping to see the next part in the Grim’s Dungeons of Doom article, then you’ll have to wait, as I’ve lost some photos somewhere, so I need to get a few new shots done to fill the gaps, but rest assured, it’ll be here soon!

Since I’ve been really busy beavering away with putting together the compendium, and school holiday duties (keeping my kids occupied is almost a full time job!) I thought I’d share some info with you about what’s coming up in the PDF.

As you can see from the above picture, here’s just five of the paper-kits that’ll be included in the book/zine, We have the shops/dwellings kit for an on the fly, easy way to create small villages for your games, then we have the Grinning Skull Studios meta-books sampler kit, for those of you who actually want to include some of our PDF publications on your models in 28mm scale!

We’ve also got some nice customisable ruined wall set that would suit almost every genre of game, and we have a tall wealthy quarter dwelling building too, all in 28mm.

Finally, we have a kit to expand on the dungeon builder series of models, such as our Arcane Library kit. Here we have the Grand stone temple expansion that will increase your options for building more varied and different complexes.

Not pictured, are the protest sign kit, ideal for modern gaming, The Fine furnishings sampler “the dinner party” kit and probably more kits I can’t remember, not to mention some great gaming and mini related articles to keep you entertained!

On a side note, we still have spaces left for any advertisers who might like some FREE advertising in the compendium, so please get in touch if you’d like to be included.

Calling all would be advertisers! Ok, I’m going to put this out there, so please give me a bit of time to explain before clicking away.

I’m planning a PDF publication called “The Grinning Skull Compendium”, it’s going to be a collection of articles and paper kits all along subjects of the similar theme of this site and all it’ll be put up for Pay-what-you-want on wargame vault and its appropriate sister sites. I’ll get into the specifics later, but I’ll talk about that another post. You’ll be hearing about this quite a bit over the next couple of months as it starts coming together, so I’ll apologise for that in advance if it becomes a pain!

Anyway, this next bit is going to be reposted and copied on quite a few places, but I thought it’d save me time repeatedly typing the same points over and over. Feel free to ask any questions if you feel I have been unclear or vague. Also I’ll be posting this info on its own page so it’ll be easier to redirect any interested parties to the info.

HOBBY ADVERTISERS WANTED FOR PDF PUBLICATION (The Grinning Skull Compendium)

Ok, since I want to get quite a bit of information over, you’ll have to forgive the “cut & paste” nature of this message where it is online.

So, I am looking for advertisers in the Miniature gaming/RPGing/modelmaking and related community and offer FREE advertising in my forthcoming first “Grinning Skull Compendium” PDF publication.
The compendium is a Pay-what-You-want PDF publication containing a collection of papermodels and articles for miniature wargaming, RPGs and general modelmaking, which I hope to publish every year/twice a year (depending on how the first is received.) I hope to include terrain making articles too and anything else I can cram into it before publication. So in addition to this, I hope to include advertisers within the hobby a cheap rate/sponsorship/etc in following PDFs, but the first issue will be free to advertise in for those who would like to be involved.
Contributors are welcome, although I cannot pay for any unsolicited material. If you would like to be involved in some way, please contact me via the website https://thegrinningskull.wordpress.com to have a chat about your ideas.

Priority will be given to advertisers who fit best into the various categories that complement the compendium, and some examples are as follows:

Miniature figure related (manufacturers/sculptors/painters/businesses etc)
Paper modeling (PDF/book/sales/websites etc)
Terrain or modelmaking (PDF/book/sales/websites etc)
wargaming related (PDF/book/sales/websites etc)
RPG related (PDF/book/sales/websites etc)
Crowdfunding Projects within all above related fields
Genre related other (comics/books/products/etc)
Other advertisers will be considered, but priority is given to those mentioned above. Please contact me if unsure and require more details.

Advertisments in will only be accepted in the following formats: JPEG, BMP, PNG, PDF. and must be accompanied with a current valid URL to link the ad within the PDF document. No text ads are accepted in this first issue (sorry)

Oggam Hut Paperkit & Oggam book re-released on Wargame Vault

To cut down on the storage space here (so I can have more space for uploading pics) I’ve decided to re-release both the Book of the Oggam and The Oggam hut over on Wargame Vault. Not only will this help keep space down, but allow me to track the downloads better and have them all in one place. Grim’s Dungeons of Doom; The Arcane Library 28mm paperkit now available from Wargame Vault!

Just a quick post to let you know that the Arcane Library paperkit is now available for download from our good friends over at Wargame Vault. Once again it is made available as a pay what you want product, so that means you can get it free if you like (but any donations are greatly appreciated!!)

This is a fully 3D environment kit, that being able to construct huge complexes or just simple structures. Totally 100% compatible with other Grinning Skull studios PDF products. I must say I’m pretty proud of this kit, it’s turned out better than what I had expected!! Although this is aimed at a fantasy crowd, this could easily be put to use with modern horror (haunted house type of thing) or even a pulp sort of set up too!!
