CLOWN NEWS: VIDEO: Is this the Doncaster Clown? Plus more sightings and round up.

20 Nov

Is this mystery creep, really the now infamous Doncaster clown? Many thanks to Maz and Brett for pointing me in the way of this video, posted recently on facebook. It was taken in the Rossington area, near the Hare & Tortoise pub, and quite clearly shows a very evil looking figure, which looks at first like a dummy, but as the video unfolds, it begins to move.

Although we can not substantiate this as being the actual doncaster clown in question, its a good candidate don’t you think? take a look for yourself and make your own mind up about its authenticity. i would love t have a screen grab of the clown in the video to show in the post heading, but alas, my programs elude me for the option, so if anyone out there could help me out with a good clear grab for further analysis, please let me know if you could help me out.

Sightings update:

Well, the response to the last clown news article has been absolutely batshit crazy, having recieved well over 100,000 hits here in the last day, it seems like there really is some meat on the bone of the various rumours of the latest spate of clown sightings (This could end up like a sport, clown spotting) with evil clown stalkers in not only Mansfield, and Chesterfield, but rumours of the prolific Doncaster Clown. The overall information is still pretty sketchy and mostly unconfirmed, so please bear that in mind and do treat every rumour with a pinch of salt until we can assertain real facts concerning this surreal phenomena. Indeed there is probably some truth to as and how the rumours started, but the more I dig, the stranger it all becomes.

We are also not alone in our town in the clown phenomenon, with news coming in with parts of Sheffield, Wakefield, Scunthorpe and others having copycat clowns as well. Looks as if the clown invasion has begun!

What I’d like to ask is that if you know anything regarding these sightings, or pics or video, please let me know and I’ll do my best to edit it all together here and keep a track of it (besides, most stuff about the Doncaster clown gets directed to here anyway) This way, you can take an objective look at any evidence  and make your own mind up about the whole thing!

What do we know (rumour wise):

I thought I’d put up what we have so far, again your input is greatly appreciated in the mystery clown rumour mill, just so those out there (and myself) who want to know just what the hell is going on about the weirdness. I want to concentrate on the most recent stuff (not the northampton clown or the carrick fergus ones that probably started the whole thing) instead the mystery surrounding the newer sightings as these may prove to be even more interesting and bizarre than the clown that started it!

There have been new clown sightings in the following parts of the Doncaster and surrounding area:

Further sightings of mystery clowns in the following additional areas:

  • Sheffield
  • Rotherham
  • Alvethorpe
  • Outwood
  • Wakefield
  • Scunthorpe
  • Skegness
  • Confirmed and documented sightings in Chesterfield and Mansfield

Witnesses or rumours reported to include the following details:

  • Tapping or knocking on windows and doors, or looking through windows (many sightings)
  • Skipping across roads or down streets.
  • Asking to clean/paint windows and sills.
  • Carrying items such as toys or baloons.
  • Two spotted at once (unconfirmed)
  • Trying to lure children from homes (unconfirmed)
  • Carrying a knife/blade (unconfirmed)
  • Non threatening behaviour.
  • At least two images or pics of what is reported to be the Doncaster clown (well, we have one video, can we find the other/s?)
  • There are a total of 13 clowns that each claim a suburb of Doncaster to haunt.

Summing up so far:

My thoughts on this whole thing is that, even so the pranks/stunts may seem evil or sinister, I have no doubt that this is just some harmless pranksters attempt at a laugh, but I do sympathise with the caulrophobes out there, it can’t be nice living in fear like this.

Even so the notion of the 13 clowns theory is quite a mad concept, I think we are looking at many rather than just one or two, either that or one clown is driving up and down the area to cause chaos! It truly is one of strangest things I have heard of in a very long time, I think thats why it’s so intregueing, just why are people doing this? What is the reason in the sheer amount of rumours circulating about? Is there an underground conclave of secret clown councils, intent on taking over!?

We live in a very mad and messed up world.

More news as it comes in.
