15mm scratch built junk shuttle craft WIP

27 Oct

So I’m back to doing my 15mm salvage crew HQ. So far I have done my main admin block/junkyard, and I had another piece part done that goes on the front of it, a section on road with odds and sods on it.

However, a good examination of the model revealed it was bland. Hardly anything of value to it, very plain and boring.#

So I have decided to change it. The Black dog salvage co. really needed something to get their staff from A to B and to work on time, so instead of the road and rounabout turn, I made it into a small space taxi port with a landing pad (I’m still working on that so pics later)

As you can imagine, I needed to think about what was going to land on it as I started to make the pad.

A small company shuttle would do the trick! I admit, I had again cut myself out more work to do, and got carried away building the craft and got sidetracked from the main objective of the port. (Photos when I have tweaked the design a little and added customs/ticket booth with robot assistant, more billboards and dressing etc!)

So here is the work so far, I painted it up with a bit of metallic bronze/brown/silver/black, just to show up a bit more of the craft so I could work on it better. A lot of bits were quite hard to see on the model (They were made from clear plastic packaging) I think it helped show me what I need to do next, with more fine detail and such, so please don’t think i’m going to leave it like this!

Again, i used junk-fu scratch building skills, with the main body being a cigarette packet, other stuff like a hacked up toy car, broken toy bits, plastic packaging, card, wires, parts of a scrapped RC helicopter I cut up, bottle tops, straws, cig filters and bits from my tecchie bits box.

Like I said, it’s a bit rough round the edges, but it’s starting to take shape and it was a darn sight cheaper than trying to find something similar (it cost me nothing to make!)

I’ll keep you posted on it’s progress, hopefully I will have a shuttle port to go with it (A bit more work before that I’m afraid!)

More 15mm Oggam, medic, trooper, Heavy weapons & Ogborg

27 Oct

Hello everyone, I thought I’d let you see how the sculpting is coming on with the Oggam range. There’s 11 light infantry done now, maybe a few more generic troopers before the first line is done. I was originally only going to do 8, but what the hell, at least there will be a big choice for any would be Oggam wargamer!

First up is the Light infantry Heavy weapons#1, this little pig has a bazooka type grenade launcher! I’ll get maybe 2 more Light infantry heavy weapons ogs done so there will be a bit of variation.

Second up is the Oggam Field medic, I like this one, complete with all his gear, a big knife, med kit and stethoscope and he’s ready for action, I’m not sure how effective the Oggam would be with medicene, but i’m sure they will have a go anyway!

Next up, another rank and file trooper, armed with a shotty type weapon, he joins the range as a standard grunt.

And now finally onto my work in progress, The Ogborg or Cybog. Out off all so far, it’s the one i’m not as happy with. He’s a bit larger than normal oggam (not surprisingly, as these are supposed  to be bruisers!) It was another off the cuff sculpts and it may or may not make the final cut in the range. Who knows, it might grow on me, but I think I want a more dynamic pose for these fellers! He’s armed with a power claw, and a big cannon weapon built in to his mechanical system, plus heavy armour and oversized cyber arms!

As you can see the range is indeed growing, so here’s a shot of 10 of the light infantry (the Heavy weapons dude is missing as he’s still drying)

Let me know what you think to the new stuff!

New Mugal Concept art for Oggam forces!

26 Oct

Hello there, I have been kept busy with quite a few different commissions and other life stuff, so this is my first post in what seems like ages (Well 3 days or so!)

I want to show you a taste of some Oggam stuff that’s still in the works, first up is this concept design for a trained Mugal and it’s Oggam handler. For those who haven’t been paying attention to the Ogs, A mugal is a mutant cattle beast from the Oggam homeworld, feared by most sane Oggam, but for a section of their society are sought out for use in fighting arenas, used as guardian beasts and more usually, as shock troops on the field of battle.  As with any kind of minotaur creature, they are big and deadly, and known for killing and eating stuff.

Oggam beware!

I hope to release these figures as rewards for backers at stretch goal levels along with some other specials I have in the works when I launch the New Kickstarter, I won’t tell you about them too much until I have more to show, I’m currently finishing off the first set of Oggam generic light infantry before I get onto the next lot (The baddies, League of Anthracks dudes…) which will be another set of 10 minis. I was going to do the blander engineer/tech figures, but I thought that now the generic guys are done, I had better do another faction side so folks could at least run an all Oggam V Oggam game, and after that, I would just make a few variants and other generic troopers to tailor your Oggam force to your liking!

The Oggam beastmasters will consist of more than just an odd Mugal or two, there will be a set of savage Pigdogs to accompany the handler figure, as well as the possibility of either Snatchworms or A six toed Nutgrinder! Both I can assure are deadly alien creatures in their own right. I may do a version of all of them so that an oggam player will have a wide choice  of troop types.

Hope you like the idea of the Mugal anyway, and if you’d like to read a little about them take a look at the PDF

I will be doing an update on the PDF in the next few days, to include any new info since the last.
