First part of the Oggam PDF up on site

30 Aug

Well, I have been busy. School holidays, keeping four kids entertained is no mean feat, so my campaign has fallen behind. My bad. I also have had a lot of modelling projects on the go, so that has thrown me too. I fear that the indiegogo campaign will never get funding.

Still, like I have always said, it was only an experiment, I still have some ideas for it and will continue with it even if it takes me a few beards or years (whichever comes soonest)

Anyway, the Oggam book is sort of here, well you can get a draft copy of the first part here: (PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DOWNLOAD THE FIRST PART OF THE OGGAM BOOK, PLEASE USE THE LINK IN THE DOWNLOADS SECTION OF THIS SITE)

Download at your pleasure, I will be sorting the rest in the next few days (real life and reality permitting)

Gimme some feedback if you like, or ieas to contribute etc..

I have about half of it done now, oh and yes I know I said it was going to be finished at the weekend, but it is proving a little harder to do. I do have a part book done which I think I will pop on the website a little later today, although its not done, it gives a good flavour of the oggam. I will endeavor to finish the rest of it as soon as I can.

On another note, there is only 12 days left, I do realise that I won’t probably achieve funding from indiegogo, but hey shit happens, I will just continue to plod on with my campaign outside of that. Maybe try some other idea to get them made. Its all good anyway. Don’t worry too much!

I will post a link later for the first draft of the book for folks to have a look at, so i’ll come back then!

I just got an update photo from Richard today, It is the first of the sculpts in the Oggam range. As you can see its looking good so far, I love the dopey/evil grin on his face, and he should look excellent when he’s done, a great start to the miniatures. Remember, I did say I will get these figs into production no matter what. He’s just the first of many, this one hopefully will be ripe for conversions to create more different weapon options etc. I love it, just what I had imagined, I know he still needs some work to get him done, but he’s captured the spirit of what I wanted from my sketches. Well done!

Wot I bin doin’ today, and finkin’ fings!

Well, got a bit side tracked on the art for the PDF, still been working on the map, and detailed icons for each main faction, but have lost my printer cable, so I can’t scan them till the morning!

I really do need to get typing up the rest of the notes, and write/type some other bits I have just thought up. I could keep going on and on about the Oggam, I suppose that I will keep updating the book, adding more details, art and fluff. I think eventually it will be a great little source book. I don’t roleplay anymore, just wargame, but I think it would do great as a sourcebook for a RPG. I may pimp it around and see if any would be game designer would like to help expand it, so if there is anyone who (after reading the book) would like to do anything like that, or contribute to it etc. please email me or PM me and we can talk about it.

Another thing I would like to do is, create a wargames system around the Oggam, it does scream out to me that I should at least try. I love the Salvage Crew system from I think I would be able to adapt the rules to fit the background. That is, if I had permission to use the system as the basis. I would have to contact the company and original writers. I don’t fancy starting one from scratch, it would take tons of work, but it maybe is an option if I couldn’t. That way I could sell them too, not give em away. I would love to produce a book though, it would be a buzz. Again if anyone fancies helping me to develop a wargame or has any ideas, please let me know.

Not much time left, but with all honesty, I have sod all chance of getting the funds from Indiegogo. It becomes less of a problem, I keep at this, adding to all of the stuff I have got done, I know its going to become something good eventually regardless. So that being said, I will continue to amass and compile. What it will become is anyones guess, but with determination, effort and a bit of psychosis, its going to be great. Your comments are always welcome, unless of course they are shit, then they are not welcome. Its nice to be nice folks!

More later.

News update…

16 Aug

Just a message about what’s going off with everything, first of all I have been quite busy with the school holidays and all, so the Ebook is a little behind, but a good session with the typing will sort it. As well as a fair bit of jiggery pokery with the dtp software!

Secondly, I have sorted the first sculpt of the Oggam minis. It’s sculpted by Richard “Space cow” Smith, who has done loads of work for 15mm figures, he’s agreed to do the very first one from my design. Its a generic pose that will fit most of the factions of the Oggam, as well as to build on for the base of other figures in the future. You can find his  website here: He’s a talented artist with a great track record for this kind of stuff, and I for one am chuffed to have him on board!

I’ll get some photos added to the project and here, once he’s done a bit more to show, it’s in the first stages of the sculpt so I will show you when it’s more Oggam like, if you get what I mean.  Looking very promising indeed up to press….more later.

Shall post a bit later when I get chance, I gotta see a man about a dog….
